Welcome. I’m Sherri and you are visiting The Kitchen Prescription. Thanks for stopping by. If you’re here it’s because you want to know a little more about the person behind the blog.

I live in Sunny South Florida, or what we S. Floridians like to call…Paradise. I’m originally a Mid Western girl where I spent the first 39 years of my life. I packed up what belongings I could fit in my car, and moved to Florida December 29, 2006.  Most of my family thought I wouldn’t last here three months. Now here it is…several years later! I’m enamored with the sunshine,(not in an overly unhealthy sorta way) warm weather, and palm trees.

Most weekends you will find me in the kitchen, but when I’m not, you might find me at the beach. Or maybe I’m out exploring what South Florida has to offer. I am the mother of two grown young adults. Unquestionably, the greatest gifts I’ve ever received. My son is a veteran United States Marine and served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a business owner in the construction industry.  I couldn’t be more proud of the man he has become. To sacrifice life for freedom is the ultimate selfless act.

My daughter recently graduated college with a degree in communications. She recently entered the work force. I wish her much success and will always encourage her to follow her dreams. She will always be my little girl. No go forth and pay back those college loans!

TZ, my significant other. I refer to him by his initials A LOT. He’s the man behind my sanity. Literally, he has the patience of a Saint. He has to. Very few men would put up with eating cold meals…all to capture that perfect photograph in the name of food blogging.

I work full time as a Legal Nurse Consultant at a Law Firm. Being a Registered Nurse of 20 plus years I also tend to be prepared for just about anything.  If someone needs an item or gadget, and asks me, eight times out of ten I’ll usually have it. I’d much rather give you a cupcake than CPR. I’ll always be a nurse at heart, but I’ve turned in my scrubs and syringe for banker’s hours, cutesy aprons, pastry bags, and various other kitchen gadgets!

I hope you enjoy my sometimes humorous posts filled with recipes and stories about cooking, food, family, and much more.

If you have a food product,  kitchen gadget, or food related item you would like me to review please contact me at thekitchenprescription@gmail.com. I only review what I feel best fits my blog and products I believe in.

Follow me on Snapchat where I post live video recipes and sometimes say funny things. Also, my drawing snaps are on point
